Millfield Celebrates St Patrick’s day
Colleagues and residents from Millfield care home celebrate St Patrick’s Day in style with a party.
On the day colleagues dressed up in green costume and the home was decked out in shamrocks and green decorations made by the residents during arts and crafts activities to mark the feast day of Ireland’s patron saint, St Patrick.
The residents also took in several activities to celebrate the occasion such as live Irish music and dancing, whiskey and Guinness tasting, and a traditional Irish lunch.
Patricia Thornhill, 91 years, who has lived at Millfield for one year, said:
There’s always lots of interesting and new activities to try here at Anchor’s Millfield. I’ve always had a soft spot for St Patrick’s Day, and I’m overjoyed we celebrate it here!
Alison Corley, Manager of Millfield care home, said:
It has been great fun celebrating St Patrick’s Day here at Anchor’s Millfield. We made decorations, organised fun activities so we could celebrate in style!
We enjoy organising fun events for residents on special days like St Patrick’s Day. They’re a great way for to keep our residents mentally and physically active and they’re also a lot of fun to organise as well!
