West Hall hold NAPA Commonwealth Care Home Open Day 2018

On Thursday the 19 April West Hall Care Home in West Byfleet threw open its’ doors and invited the local community to come along and join all the residents and staff in the NAPA challenge Commonwealth Care Home Open Day.

The idea behind the day is to encourage local people to visit care homes in their community and to work together to develop better relationships.

This important connection is something that West Hall has nurtured since opening in 2012 and the home is already acting as a community hub, including West Byfleet live,

As part of the Care Home Open Day 2018, West Hall’s 3 residential lodges Birch, Maple and Oak each adopted a commonwealth country, (South Africa, Canada and Sri Lanka) where the staff and residents in each decorated their lodge to show our visitors the delights to be celebrated in each of their chosen country with each kitchen team providing delicious fayre at lunchtime and everyone was invited try a selection of each. 

Jason, the Services Manager was our cocktail barman extraordinaire serving a selection of after lunch cocktail in the garden room where everyone could soak up the beautiful sunshine on the patio before heading into the Bistro for an afternoon of dancing at our Great British Cream Tea-dance to celebrate the 92nd birthday of her majesty Queen Elizabeth.          

Tracy Manzi, General Manager at the home, said: "This is a great way to show the excellent services on offer and the fantastic work that goes on at West Hall. Some people still have misconceptions about care homes so we are keen to dispel any myths and for people to come and have a look around, meet the staff and our residents and discover what a fantastic time we all have here not just on special days like today but every single day of the week."
