Resident enjoys special moment with granddaughter at her wedding with support from care team
Bob Strickland, a resident at Eric Morecambe House, was able to attend his granddaughter’s wedding, thanks to the support of those who care for him every day. .jpg)
Robert (Bob) Strickland, was originally due to attend the Burnley wedding virtually. However, Home Manager Stephanie Webster and Deputy Manager Michelle Watson had other ideas. They ensured that Bob’s presence was kept a secret, until the exact moment that his granddaughter Lucy was walking down the aisle.
Her dad told her to turn around, and there was Bob dressed in his finest attire.
Reflecting on the day, Stephanie said:
It was amazing to be part of such a special family moment, and we’re so glad that Bob could be with his granddaughter on her big day. A massive congratulations to the happy couple as well!
Bob, 94, added:
I’m so grateful to both Stephanie and Michelle for making it happen.
For their work, both Michelle and Stephanie have been recognised and nominated for Anchor colleague awards.
