New Skelton Court care home now open in Saltburn
Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland, Councillor Stuart Smith has officially opened the doors of our new Skelton Court care home in Skelton-on-Cleveland.
The Mayor and professionals from the local community were invited for a special launch event at the newly built care home on Station Lane.
Skelton Court is a new contemporary residential care home offering first class residential and dementia care for up to 65 residents. Designed to meet the specific needs of residents, the home includes a hairdressing and beauty salon, bar area, activity areas and access to private landscaped gardens.
After enjoying a tour of the home alongside Rob Martin, Managing Director of Care Services at Anchor, Mayor Stuart Smith cut the ribbon and declared Skelton Court to be officially open.
Commenting on his visit, Mayor Stuart Smith said:
It was lovely to meet with Anchor colleagues and professionals from the local community, and experience for myself the warm welcome residents will receive. Anchor is a well-established and trusted care provider that I know will offer great support to older people in Redcar and Cleveland, particularly those living with dementia and their families.
Rob Martin, Managing Director of Care Services at Anchor, said:
At Anchor we are passionate about supporting older people in their everyday lives. We are proudly not-for-profit and with nearly 60 years of experience we continue to work hard to meet the changing needs and expectations of our residents.
Skelton Court is set in beautiful surroundings close to the coast and equipped with modern facilities to provide a safe and comfortable environment for residents. We are honoured to celebrate the opening of Skelton Court with The Mayor and the local community.
This latest addition to our care home portfolio illustrates the progress we are making towards the growth strategy set out in our Business Plan to create more and better homes where people can love living in later life and to create more opportunities for people to find a fulfilling career working in the social care sector.
Skelton Court is now recruiting for various positions, including care assistants and domestic and kitchen support. Every new colleague will receive comprehensive training and professional development opportunities and can expect all the support they need to make the most of their career. Anchor also offers a wealth of benefits designed to boost wellbeing and support colleagues.
