Canterbury House care home receives award for exceptional care during coronavirus pandemic

Canterbury House care home in Ipswich has received a royal award for going above and beyond during the coronavirus pandemic.

Anchor’s Canterbury House, on Gallows Hill in Hadleigh, received a Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk award from Clare Fitzroy, Countess of Euston in recognition of their actions during the pandemic.

The team at Canterbury House were praised for their hard work, generosity and their collaboration with the rest of their local community in helping to tackle coronavirus and keep their residents safe. In honour of their achievement, the team were awarded the Lord Lieutenant’s Certificate of merit and received a personal letter from Countess Claire thanking them for their efforts. 

Patricia French, Manager of Canterbury House, was very honoured by the award and keen to congratulate all her team.

She said:

It’s such an honour to be recognised like this. On behalf of the whole team at Canterbury House, I would like to thank the Countess for this recognition. 

We’ve had to overcome a lot this year, but we will continue to ensure residents are safe and still receive the best service.

The pandemic has been difficult for everyone, especially for older people. However, the team have been absolutely superb, going to great lengths to keep everyone safe, happy and healthy and keep life here functioning as normally as possible.
