Anchor residents celebrate Winnie the Pooh Day
Residents at The Ridings care home in Banbury celebrated National Winnie the Pooh Day by holding a special reading club.
Winnie the Pooh day is held annually on 18 January to mark the late author, A A Milne’s birthday. Milne was born in 1882 and wrote the books based on his son Christopher Robin and his stuffed animals.
Residents at The Ridings were delighted to give the bear a hug while enjoying some honey on their toast with a cuppa.
Jonathan Palmer, District Manager for The Ridings, said:
Our residents had a wonderful day showing their love for the bear and his stories.
National Winnie the Pooh Day is a great way to continue the fabulous contribution A A Milne’s books made and still continue to make to British life and everyone at The Ridings really enjoyed showing their appreciation and respect.
The Ridings is a trusted provider of care for older people including offering support for those with residential and dementia care needs. It is a unique purpose-built residence which is set in beautiful grounds in the historic market town of Banbury. To find out more about The Ridings click here.
