Dog made honorary team member at Gills Top care home
Gills Top care home has found a new colleague in the shape of a three year old Labrador named Jess!
Jess has been a regular visitor to Gills Top care home along with her owner Sam to visit Sam’s grandmother Margaret Salmon, 80. Everyone at the home has fallen in love with Jess and it’s safe to say she loves them all back!
On all her visits to Gills Top, Jess makes sure to visit everyone she can and get pets and attention. She’s become a bit of a legend at Gills Top for forming bonds with everyone and making sure she puts a smile on their face!
In celebration of her wonderfulness, Jess has been made an honorary member of the team at Gills Top! Jess has been given a special neckerchief and the title of Pet Companion. In her new role, Jess will have the important task of making everyone’s day brighter when she comes to see them.
However, Jess’s new job isn’t the only recognition she’s received. Jess has also been named our Pet of the Month for April as well.
Margaret is delighted that Jess has been given a job at the home, saying:
I absolutely love Jess, since the first time she and Sam came to visit, she’s just been wonderful! She’s just the kindest dog and she’s shared her love to everyone.
I think it’s lovely that she’s been made an honorary colleague. Anyone can tell you that pets are a wonderful part of life and Jess is the perfect example, it’s honestly so great that Gills Top is so pet friendly!
Gemma Heaton, Manager of Gills Top care home said:
Jess is an absolute star. She just knows how to put a smile on everyone’s face. If someone’s feeling down when she’s around she’s just able to sense it and cheer them up! She’s such a clever dog, and really empathetic too. You can tell she loves everyone here and we all love her!
It’s wonderful that Jess has been named pet of the month for April too. I was thinking about making her my colleague of the month as well!
Gills Top is a pet friendly location. Recently, we were awarded the Gold standard from the RSPCA at their annual PawPrints Award for continuing to support pet-owning residents at our properties.
