Anchor Hanover comment on delayed social care reform announcement

Anchor Hanover welcomes the government’s commitment to social care reform. Addressing the uncertainty and confusion surrounding the funding system is essential for our ageing society and the future of the sector. 

For many years, we have called for a cap on individual care costs and it is encouraging that this is reportedly being considered as part of the government’s plans.

However, news that an announcement has been delayed until the autumn is extremely disappointing. It is vital that the government sets out their plans for reform as a matter of urgency and engages with providers whose experience and expertise can help to deliver the sustainable, long-term reforms which have eluded politicians for so long.
