Directory of housing locations with guest rooms
You may be keen to know if family and friends will be able to stay with you when living in an Anchor retirement property.
At many of our leasehold estates and retirement properties for rent the private residence are complement by a guest room that may be used by you, your visitors or other Anchor residents.

Guest room policy
The primary purpose of the guest rooms in our locations is to support the welfare of residents who live there: providing somewhere to stay if repairs work is being carried out to your home or allowing your relatives somewhere to stay close to you.
Therefore, lettings are prioritised and stays should usually be for a short duration unless there are exceptional circumstances. This also means visits made for leisure purposes can be cancelled at short notice, to ensure the guest room facilities are available in such eventualities.
Priority order for bookings
- Relatives/friends of a resident who is ill or has passed away
- Visiting relatives/friends of residents at the location
- Colleagues staying for work purposes.
- Leisure stays for Anchor residents from other locations or Anchor colleagues.
We also have rules about who cannot stay in the guest room for example: people with no connection to Anchor, unaccompanied minors (under 18) or those people who may pose a risk to residents or other visitors.
To ensure that bookings are in-keeping with our policy's aims, when making a booking we will ask you for information about yourself and will carry out a verification check. All data collected is for the purpose of booking the room and in line with the General Data Protection Regulations, a copy of our privacy notice can be viewed here.
To ensure we can continue to offer cost-effective guest rooms, our policy is not to provide a refund if you cancel the stay. If Anchor have to cancel the stay for whatever reason you will get a full refund.
Residents or their guests can appeal decisions made in line with the guest room policy. This should be raised through the location manager and dealt with by the area manager.
Understanding guest room availability and cost
Availability and use of guest room facilities varies around the country and between rented and leasehold estates.
If you live in an Anchor rented housing location which has a guest room and you would like friends or family to stay when they come to visit you, our guest rooms can be used for a small charge.
Similarly, if you, as an Anchor resident, are visiting another Anchor housing location with a guest room, you may be able to stay for a small charge.
Supported by their lease, the residents living at Anchor leasehold estates with guest room facilities can decide whether to make them available to other Anchor residents or just to their own friends and family members. They can also decide whether there should be a small charge for using the guest room facilities.
How much is it to use a guest room? How do I arrange a booking?
The charge for using a guest room is determined by the location manager and residents of each location and will therefore vary, but will typically be less than the price of a hotel room in the local area. Please phone the local manager on the number provided in our Guest Rooms Directory to discuss the availability and cost, and to arrange your booking.
