Dad received excellent care during his respite stay. The staff were all extremely patient and caring. The room was immaculate and the room was comfortable with a lovely view of the courtyard. The menu was impressive, and Dad's preferences were catered for where possible. I would not hesitate to recommend the Mill House to anyone. My mum is also a p… ermanent resident there, and it is very reassuring that she is in such safe hands, receiving exceptional care.

My wife has been here >3m. She has been helped throughout her transitions, as have I. Your staff is your strength, though we have no fault to find in your excellent organisation & facilities. Seperation after 66 years marriage is no neat, but her now living in Mill House where I am welcomed daily visiting has done us both good. Thank you.

We moved my mother into The Mill House in January this year. She was failing in health and not responding to care in her previous home. The staff at the Mill House made it their responsibility to care and motivate her towards recovery. Since the move she has regained both physical strength and cognitive awareness. She is very happy and the staff ha… ve been the key factor in her change. A lovely home.

Anchor 2025 Christmas and New Year opening times

Over the 2025 festive period our teams will still be on hand to answer your queries. Find out more about changes to our opening times.

Welcoming you

To start your enquiry simply click 'Enquire now' at the top of the page and either call us or complete an online enquiry form.

We know only too well how daunting and emotional the decisions are for everyone when considering care, which is why our team are here to help every step of the way.

We’ll provide you with full details of the home, along with any other information you’d like, such as sample menus and activity schedules, as well as explain how you can arrange a viewing.

Whether you’re looking to stay with us permanently, or for a short break, we’d be delighted to take you on a show round of the home in person. Simply book a visit with the home manager once you’ve made your enquiry.

If you or your loved one doesn’t live nearby or are unable to visit in person we can provide a virtual show round. Either way, we’re keen to show you what daily life is like here and for you to meet our friendly team.

We hope you decide, following your visit, that you or your loved one would like to move into the home, in which case we’ll organise a pre-assessment to make sure we can meet all your care needs.

Guide to visiting a care home for the first time

Visiting a care home is one of the most important steps in deciding whether it’s the right place for you or your loved one. In our homes we will ensure your visit will be welcoming, informative and reassuring, so you can feel confident about your choice. To help you get the most from your time visiting our homes, we've written an easy to follow online guide to visiting a care home.

We hope you decide, following your visit, that you or your loved one would like to move into the home, in which case we’ll organise a pre-assessment to make sure we can meet all your care needs.

You may already have had a care needs assessment from the local authority and have a care plan in place which can be a useful starting point for our conversations, so we will ask about these. Our pre-assessment is a chance for us to find out more about you, the challenges you face and the way you like to live your life. It's a conversation about how our team could work with you to support your needs, independence, and wellbeing.

Once you are confident in your choice of new home, our friendly onsite teams will discuss every aspect of moving-in with you in detail to make sure you know exactly what to expect.

This way you can feel confident, safe and welcomed in the knowledge that you or your loved one will be happy and supported in your new home.

Before you move in, we will find out if there are any of your possessions that you wish us to place in your room before you arrive. Please bring your family photographs and most treasured possessions to help make your room your home.

Our care homes are dedicated to helping our residents maintain links in the local area and with their loved ones. We understand how important visits are to help your loved one settle in and we welcome regular visits from family and friends.

We also actively support residents living with us to enjoy visits away from their new home into the local area and to nearby places of interest.

Each of our homes is different and the manager of the care home you’re interested in will provide all the information you need around visiting.
