Social media sensations Jess and Norma join resident coffee morning

For Global Intergenerational Week, nan and granddaughter duo Jess and Norma attended one of our Be Connected virtual coffee mornings to talk about their close intergenerational relationship.

Over 50 Anchor colleagues and residents joined to ask Jess and Norma questions around their achievements and aspirations, how they found the social media platform and why they think intergenerational relationships are so important to maintain. 

Speaking about the coffee morning, Diane Mitchener, Anchor resident at Rosehill, West Sussex said:

It was heart-warming to see the close relationship between Jess and Norma and to share their easy conversation.  I too am close to my two granddaughters and value their friendship. I truly believe they keep me younger than my years!

Amy Maloney, Anchor’s Merger & Acquisition Delivery Project Manager, also attended the coffee morning and said:

I really enjoyed today's session, it was so nice to see both residents and colleagues attending together and it was really heart-warming chatting with Jess and Norma. I love their videos and I enjoyed hearing how much they are enjoying this time and about how the differences they each bring to their relationship benefits both of them. I no longer have grandparents and I think their relationship is really special to see. Their book sounds fantastic too!

Our virtual coffee mornings run every Tuesday over Zoom and are part of our Be Connected initiative. Special guests with a wide range of backgrounds, careers and interests, such as Jess and Norma, are often invited to attend to share their lives and experiences.
