Annesley Lodge celebrates World Chocolate Day

On the 7 July residents at Annesley Lodge care home in Nottingham enjoyed a range of fruits and marshmallows dipped into a mini chocolate fountain 

Celebrating national days is important here at Anchor, especially when it involves delicious food. On the 7 July, residents at Annesley Lodge celebrated World Chocolate Day with a mini chocolate fountain used for dipping marshmallows and strawberries. 

Residents gathered around the chocolate fountain and enjoyed dipping fruit and marshmallows into it – they even shared the chocolate covered strawberries with other residents who were not sat at the table. For many, it was a new and interesting experience.

Hilma Fell from Annesley Lodge said

I have never used a chocolate fountain before and had a lot of fun dipping the fruit in it. I think the chocolate covered strawberries were my favourite.

Our catering teams work hard to ensure that mealtimes are an enjoyable part of the day for residents, and hosting special events such as chocolate tasting makes it that bit more delicious.
