Merry Christmas from Jane Ashcroft
In her 2021 Christmas message Anchor's Chief Executive, Jane Ashcroft takes the opportunity to highlight some of our achievements and say thank you to colleagues, residents, relatives and the whole Anchor family for their continued hard work through what has been another challenging year.
Hello everybody, when I did a message last year I said we'd had the most difficult year I could remember and here we are at the end of another pretty challenging year.
Although I think there are some encouraging signs, and I really want to thank everybody who's been involved in making sure that despite the challenges this has been a positive year for our organisation.
As the largest provider of housing and care for older people in England, I was particularly proud when we were able to announce that we were committed to the Living Wage Foundation's True Living Wage.
Recognising the people who work in this organisation is one of the most important things that I can do in this job. I'm really excited that we're the first national provider to be in that that position and we can encourage our existing colleagues and new colleagues to really give of their best to support the residents across our organisation which is what we're all about. It’s really reassuring that despite the challenges we continue to provide great quality services.
And not just great quality services, but places where people have a lot of fun. As we head into Christmas this year our Move Into Christmas campaign is proving to be fabulous. It’s great watching people have a lot of fun across our services and hearing about it on social media. It encapsulates lots of fun things we've done all year across the organisation. The spirit of our residents and the commitment of our colleagues is really for me what makes Anchor so special.
And that's the reason why at this time of year it's always worth thanking everybody for their commitment. So whether you're watching this as one of our residents, whether you're a family member, whether you're a local authority or a commissioner we work with or whether you're one of my colleagues in the organisation; thank you for everything you've done to make this year a decent year, despite its challenges and here's to a really merry festive season for everybody and a great year ahead in 2022.
