New appointment to Anchor Hanover Executive Board
Anchor Hanover has appointed Rob Martin to its Executive Board as Managing Director of Care Services, with effect from 1 March 2021.
Rob is currently the Director of Care Quality at Anchor Hanover, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of care and housing for older people. It operates 114 care homes as well as extra care and retirement communities, providing services to a total of 60,000 older people.
Rob has been working as part of Anchor Hanover’s senior leadership team since 2013 and has more than 20 years’ experience in health and social care. One of Rob’s first roles was as a Registered Care Home Manager in the North West of England. After leaving school, he served with 40 Regiment in the Royal Artillery for almost seven years.
He takes on the role from Mark Greaves, who has successfully run the operation since 2015, following the acquisition of 24 care homes from LNT Group. Anchor Hanover now has the highest levels of compliance with the requirements of the Care Quality Commission of all large providers. The organisation also won Large Residential Care provider of the year at the prestigious LaingBuisson Awards 2019 and is a finalist in the same category this year. Going forward, Mark plans to explore opportunities closer to home.
Anchor Hanover Chief Executive Jane Ashcroft CBE said: “We have a commitment to supporting colleagues to develop their careers at Anchor Hanover so I’m delighted that Rob Martin is joining the Executive Board. He takes over a service which has remained high performing despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. I would like to thank Mark Greaves for his outstanding contribution to the organisation and wish him continued success in his next ventures.”
Rob said: “I am honoured to take on this role and look forward to building on the organisation’s 50 years of history to ensure all our care services are places where people can love living in later life.”
Mark said: “It has been an honour and a privilege to work alongside colleagues throughout the organisation who have such passion and commitment to improve the lives of older people. It is also fantastic to be handing over the reins to Rob who I have every faith will continue to take the care business from strength to strength.”
