Bluegrove House care home fundraiser for Comic Relief
Our Bluegrove House care home in Southwark has organised an activity fair and cake sale in aid of the Comic Relief, the national charity fundraising event taking place on Friday 18 March. The money raised will go to help people live free from poverty, violence and discrimination.
On the day, everyone at the care home will be dressing up in red and white clothes and taking part in a series of fun activities like a classic egg and spoon race and some fun board games too. There will also be a cupcake and coffee sale for residents, colleagues and visitors to enjoy. All proceeds from the day will be donated to Comic Relief.
The team and residents will also be wearing the classic Comic Relief red noses too!
Pamella Clarke-Dayes, Manager at Bluegrove House care home, said:
We’re really excited to be raising money for Comic Relief. Not only are these events raising money for a good cause, they’re also a lot of fun for our residents to take part in and us to organise!
We’re proud to do our part for Comic Relief. Our residents are always keen to help good causes. Meaningful activities also help with our residents’ physical and mental well-being.
The Comic Relief event has sparked a lot of interest from residents at the home.
Helen O’Brien, 80, who has lived at the home for five years, said she is looking forward to the board games and the cake. She said:
The day will be a lot of fun all in aid of a really important cause. There’s always a lot of great events here. I’ve always liked to raise money for Comic Relief and other charities and I’m really glad I can keep doing so while living here!
