Anchor residents in Hinckley fundraise £1,100 for the mayor’s appeal

Residents from The Dials Resident Activity Group (DRAG), a local resident group at Anchor’s The Dials development, invited Mayor Richard Flemming to the development in Leicestershire to recognise residents who have raised £1,100 for the Mayor’s Appeal.

Councillor Richard Flemming is serving as the Mayor of Hinckley and Bosworth for the 2025/26 civic year.

The funds were raised by DRAG in aid of the Mayor’s chosen charities, Leicestershire Air Ambulance and Hinckley WorkLink, a charity that fights furniture poverty through reuse of furniture and electrical items. DRAG organised a range of fundraising activities, including raffles and an auction for artwork by talented resident Phil Whitlock. Be Well 360, Anchor’s resident support programme, donated 15 Fitbits costing £750. The total funds raised for the charities was £1,100.

The fundraising success was celebrated at The Dials on Wednesday 25th February, and included a presentation by DRAG, a site tour of the development and tea and cake donated by Caterplus, the specialist contract caterer at the onsite bistro. The event was attended by Mayor Richard Flemming and his wife, Be Well 360 representative Charlotte Bacciochi, and Location Manager at The Dials, Lucy Haywood.

We are proud of the community spirit at The Dials, and the dedication shown by residents who have come together to raise more than £1,000 for two important local charities.
