Checking care home quality standards
When choosing a care home it is important to check on quality standards. The independent regulator of health and social care in England is called the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The Care Quality Commission monitor, inspect and regulate all care homes to ensure they meet government standards and provide safe, effective, compassionate and high-quality care. They publish inspection reports on their website which can either identify any areas for concern or help you to feel confident in your care home choices.
You can easily find the CQC inspection reports for each Anchor care home by visiting the home's information page on this website and clicking on the link under the CQC logo.
We have also produced a free guide to Understanding CQC ratings, which explains what the CQC is, how they assess the performance of care homes, including Anchor’s, through their CQC ratings, what these ratings mean, and how you can find and read CQC inspection reports online for yourself.
