Manor House Harrogate resident amazes with creative jigsaw hobby
A resident at the Manor House, Harrogate has amazed staff with a creative new hobby, recreating some of the world’s most iconic buildings as 3D jigsaws.
Frank England, 96, was inspired by some of the most beautiful architecture in the world and was impressed with the amount of research and work that goes into the 3D jigsaws.
So far, Frank has completed detailed replicas of St Paul’s Cathedral (London) Milan Cathedral and St Basil’s Cathedral (Moscow). Models are now displayed at The Manor House Harrogate, Oulton Manor and The Manor House, Knaresborough.
Frank has also stunned staff with his ability as a wood carver, and over the past few months, produced all sorts of different animals that currently sit on display at various care homes across the region.
Lifestyle Coordinator for Manor House Harrogate, Helen Maude, said:
Frank is a true inspiration to both residents and staff and continues to amaze us all. Frank believes these jigsaws are good for keeping the brain active. In terms of the jigsaws, he’s completed some lovely pieces and the way he’s captured the elegance of the animals in his carvings is incredible.
