Greenacres care home receives COVID-19 vaccination
Residents and carers at a Banstead care home have received the COVID-19 vaccination, following the government’s plan to prioritise care home residents and carers as part of its vaccination roll-out programme.
The residents of Greenacres care home on The Horseshoe were offered the vaccination on the 13th of January. Local healthcare teams came in and vaccinated all residents, with members of the team at Greenacres also able to receive the vaccination on the same day.
Derek Knight, 96, a resident of Anchor’s Greenacres, said:
I’m so pleased to have received the vaccination. The care team have been doing a wonderful job of looking after us and having the vaccination provides an extra layer of protection and peace of mind.
Leigh Arney, Manager of Anchor’s Greenacres, said:
The vaccination roll-out has gone really well, and we are delighted that care home residents and workers are being prioritised. Our residents have received their vaccination along with our care colleagues and it means that they can keep safe, be there for their family and friends and prevent the virus from spreading further.
