Anchor partners with Jim’s Gym to support resident wellbeing
Anchor has partnered with Jim’s Gym to help residents at six of its later living developments stay active, connected and independent.
Residents will have access to online fitness classes, on-demand workouts and a supportive community through the Jim’s Gym platform, making it easier to build regular movement into everyday life.
The platform forms part of Anchor’s Be Well 360 service, which supports residents to live healthy, active and connected lives. As well as physical activity, the service offers a range of wellbeing benefits, from supporting mobility and balance and improving sleep to making social connections and pursuing creative interests.
Founded by personal trainer James Hilton, Jim’s Gym supports physical, mental and social wellbeing through accessible fitness activities designed for people in later life. Members can take part in more than 15 live classes each week, as well as hundreds of workouts and sessions on demand.
Activities include strength and balance training, yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Zumba, Dancercise and cardio. Residents can choose between seated and standing options, depending on what works for them. They will also have access to nutrition support and Fitness MOT assessments.
James Hilton, Founder of Jim’s Gym, said:
Exercise isn’t just for young people. It’s crucial to stay active throughout your whole life, which is why I founded Jim’s Gym.
It means the world to have an organisation of Anchor’s scale and reputation incorporate the platform into its Be Well 360 service. Through the partnership, we’ll reach hundreds of people aged over 55 with inclusive fitness support designed to build confidence and community.
Brett Jenkins, Wellbeing Development Manager at Anchor, said:
Supporting residents to stay active is fundamental to overall wellbeing. In later life, regular movement plays an important role in maintaining confidence, independence and social connection.
Jim’s Gym stood out for its accessible and engaging approach. The platform makes movement feel achievable and enjoyable, while giving residents the flexibility to take part from home.
We’re looking forward to seeing the difference it makes, both physically and socially, as part of our Be Well 360 service.
The partnership will be available to residents at six Anchor later living developments:
- Pemberley Place, Bath
- The Signals, Hook
- The Chimes, Bingley
- The Beacons, Chelmsford
- The Landings, Kings Hill
- The Peaks, Stockport
These developments offer people aged 55 and over a range of housing options, with flexible ways to buy including Shared Ownership, rent and private sale. This gives people more choice when finding a home that suits their needs and circumstances.
