Anchor care colleague wins top regional award at Great British Care Awards
We’re proud to announce that Ruth Bishop triumphed at the South West regional final of the Great British Care Awards 2025, which recognises excellence across the care sector.
Ruth, Care Quality Advisor at Anchor, overcame the competition to claim The Workforce Development Award at the regional final held at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol on
Thursday, November 13.
The Great British Care Awards honour individuals who have gone the extra mile to help improve the lives of residents within their care.
Judges concluded that Ruth demonstrates an outstanding dedication to social care, with over 30 years supporting people living with dementia. Her expertise in coaching and mentoring colleagues promotes person-centred care and improves residents’ quality of life.
Following her win, Ruth will advance on to the national final at the ICC in Birmingham, which will take place next spring.
Reflecting on the win at the regional final, Ruth said:
It’s amazing! I was so happy just to be nominated but I honestly can’t believe I’ve won. I love doing what I do and it’s wonderful to be recognised by the judges in The Workforce Development Award category.
I'm just so grateful to everyone who nominated and supported me in getting to this stage. I hope I do the South West proud at the upcoming national finals.
