Introducing Be Well 360
It’s a fact of life that some of us struggle to keep as active and sociable as we’d like. We know we should, we often want to and mean to, but it isn’t always as easy as it seems.
I’m Anchor’s Wellbeing Development Manager, but it’s the same for me; I can sometimes lack motivation or find it hard to make time for meaningful activities, and can need a little direction to get going. That’s why I’m so passionate about helping people in later life get started on their health and wellbeing journey – because I can relate to people who see it as a challenge.
And so I’m really excited to be launching Anchor’s Be Well 360 service in our new developments; an inclusive and holistic programme that supports residents to live a healthy, active and connected lifestyle. We’ve spent time ensuring our approach is simple, flexible and personalised, and because we understand wellbeing is made up of many things, Be Well 360 is about so much more than health and fitness.
The programme promotes and enhances quality of life by;
- Identifying individual needs and creating a plan
- Offering the knowledge, tools and opportunities to promote physical, mental and social wellbeing
- Serving as a community focal point and creating opportunities for people to connect with one another.
With Be Well 360 residents will be supported by a professional wellbeing advisor. Whether the individual want to feel fitter, increase their energy, improve mobility, balance and confidence, or enjoy better sleep and feel less stressed, their advisor will work with them to develop a realistic action plan that targets their aspirations.
What’s more, we are delighted that as part of our approach we have partnered with The Joy Club - an award-winning online activities club where members can learn from experts, keep their minds and bodies active and connect with people who share their interests. Through the Be Well 360 service, we’re providing residents of our new developments with access to The Joy Club’s online events, inspiring content and vibrant community. This is really exciting as it supports a central aspect of wellbeing - social interaction.
Whether an individual’s goals involve trying out new exercise classes, learning new skills, improving diet, taking up creative pursuits or meeting new people, their wellbeing advisor will be on hand to guide them and explain how to access the wealth of resources and information available through the programme.
Importantly they’ll be there every step of the way to offer advice, regular assessments and celebrate the big, and small, improvements.
At Anchor our new retirement properties are designed to meet the specific needs of older people, and I believe Be Well 360 is a great compliment to the beautiful new homes we are building. You can find out more about our developments with new homes available today here.
