Tandy Court care home opens a reminiscence courtyard
A Kings Heath care home has recently opened their reminiscence courtyard for the benefit of their residents.
Special Guest Michael Stevenson, who plays Iain Dean on BBC Casualty, opened the reminiscence courtyard at Anchor’s Tandy Court on Saturday 24th August.
A Post Office, greengrocers and an ‘Open All Hours’ style general store have been created at the Tandy Drive care home.
Home manager Arianne Clarke said, “The purpose of our reminiscence courtyard is to provide an attractive and interesting destination for our residents. This project will help improve the quality of their everyday lives and we are already planning further additions to it.”
She said: “Our courtyard enables our residents to be in a familiar environment they remember so they will feel more comfortable and calmer. Our residents are looking forward to visiting the Post Office and also the shop. The opening was wonderful and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day!”
