From the first moment we were looking for a home for mum we knew she would be in safe hands at Kerria court .iIt like a home from home for mum. Working in the care sector I was nervous about putting mum in care but being in the industry I knew it was the best decision to be made for my mums safety. Mum always kept staff on there toes and nothing… ever fazed them . When I had concerns about mum two particular members of staff were always available to help and support sorting the issues. Mum deteriorated but they allowed her to stay around people she knew and loved. In those final moments I realised what the staff felt for my mum. I'm so glad she was surrounded by extended family of Kerria court they came to say good bye and they supported the whole family throughout the journey. I can't thank the staff enough for the live they showed to mum and myself and my wife. I will always remember mum laughing and singing at Kerria court she was happy again.

We are delighted with the care provided at Kerria Court. The staff are attentive, kind and respectful towards everyone. The home is clean and well maintained. The open communication from the management team is fantastic. We would highly recommend Kerria Court for providing a safe and supportive environment for family members who require 24-hour car… e.

Mom has been in Kerria Court since early November 2024. Without exception, the Management and Staff have been excellent - caring, compassionate, and empathetic. Mom loves the food, even though "all they want me to do is eat all day". The home has regular entertainment and activities for residents to enjoy if they want to get involved - and there… are areas they can sit for some peace and quiet, too. Mom currently spends quite a lot of time in her room (with a small kitchenette and full en-suite), but we're sure that as her confidence grows, she will venture into the communal lounge more and more. The staff are trying to encourage this too. Each time mom has had a small health issue, the team at Kerria Court ensure she is looked after - helped by a weekly visit from the local GP. It's obviously a worry when her children live 100+ miles away, but we're reassured given the quality of care mom receives.

Whenever we go the staff are helpful and friendly, if they can't answer the query they will find out and let us know. We are kept informed of any issues regarding my mother-in-law.

My mother has been cared for at Kerria Court since January 2019. My family and I are so happy with the wonderful loving care and support she has received since arriving at Kerria Court. We have found the staff to be very attentive to Mum's particular needs. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday, and the home hosted a very special family birthda… y celebration for her. I can not speak too highly of the management and staff at Kerria Court.

There is no longer lovely music playing. The staff turnover is huge as I did not recognise anyone. My mother was in the lounge, which was very positive. She looked well. The overall standard of cleanliness is good, and the place tidy with no offensive smell. It would be good for those able to, to have a short trip out occasionally. However, I recog… nise that this would be challenging.

Kerria Court - Accommodation

We know how important mealtimes are and like them to be a sociable and enjoyable part of the day. Our experienced chefs attend Anchor's Cater Craft training course which enables them to understand the nutritional requirements of elderly people and to ensure all meals are prepared from fresh, seasonal ingredients.

We serve tasty, wholesome, good food and our menus change regularly with a daily choice available. We also cater for residents with special dietary needs and create a “dining atmosphere” by decorating these areas in colours that stimulate the appetite and create ambiance.

Our staff respect individual preferences. All these factors boost residents appetites and enable them to enjoy their meal, which is essential in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Kerria Court - Dining

Our care home organises and arranges a variety of opportunities for our residents to enjoy daily activities in our home and in the local community.

We work in partnership with the National Association for Providers of Activities for Older People (NAPA) and encourage activities that enhance our residents’ lifestyle, health and wellbeing.

Residents preferred activities, interests and ability are discussed when they move in and an agreed plan ensures that these requests are fulfilled (wherever possible). Our residents’ suggestions for activities also help shape the planning process.

We organise supervised day trips to leisure facilities and places of interest as well as social events in the home, including themed restaurant evenings, arts and crafts, quizzes and regular entertainers.

The following extra items and services are not covered by the weekly fees, however we can arrange for them to be provided (at an additional cost):
- professional hairdressing
- personal copies of newspapers or magazines
- personal purchases such as stationery, confectionery, toiletries etc.
- clothing, shoes and slippers

In the absence of free provision by the NHS, we can also arrange for the following healthcare services to be provided, these will be charged in addition to the weekly fees:

- physiotherapy
- other privately arranged healthcare
- care staff accompaniment to regular medical appointments.
