Revved up for summer
Meadow Court welcomed guests to a Classic Car Show and street party.
Local Hampshire residents were invited to a Classic Car Event on 2nd July, at Meadow Court in Sarisbury Green, Southampton.
Around 250 people gathered to mark the ongoing celebrations of Her Majesty the Queen’s Jubilee. Guests admired the selection of classic cars that were displayed - ranging from vintage cars from 1919 through to newer models – and enjoyed a variety of food and beverage stalls including Simply Hog Roast, Rossi’s Soft Ice Cream, and a Tuk Tuk Bar.
Specialists from Locks Heath Classic Car Club and South Hants Vehicle Preservation Society were on hand to talk about the cars on display, including a 1923 Ford Model T, a 1969 Daimler V8, drop head coupe Alvis and a rare Citroen B2 from 1919 amongst many more. At a VR attraction, guests were able to get in the driver’s seat themselves where they raced on an oval track and competed for the fastest lap using a ‘top gear’ style leader board.
Kim Hunter, Manager of Meadow Court, said:

It was a lovely event – it was great fun seeing the range of classic cars too, I grew up around a lot of them! The whole event was put together well and we were thoroughly entertained for the day – the singers were fantastic.
