Many people in the UK don’t claim the benefits they are entitled to with billions going unclaimed each year.

There is a range of financial support available to help you with your housing costs and the expenses of daily living. Other support, such as non means tested disability benefits, are available to aid in the additional costs of long-term ill health.

Benefits are calculated based on the age, circumstances, income and capital for you if you live alone or you and your partner.

You will need to have the following information to hand before starting the calculation:

• Bank statements/ accounts which accurately show all income, pensions and savings for you and/or partner
• The amount of your housing costs such as rent and/or service charges
• Council Tax bill showing your annual charge
• Details of any benefits you currently receive
