Maple Tree Court carer recognised for hard work attends awards ceremony
Christopher Crossan, a carer at Maple Tree Court care home in Kidsgrove has received a qualification in recognition of his hard work.
Christopher attended the ‘GB Training’ Graduation and Awards Ceremony in Birmingham on Wednesday 6 June.
Mr Crossan has overcome a number of personal challenges, including living with cerebral palsy, to achieve a NVQ Level Two Diploma in Health & Social Care including Preparing to Work in social care, Employment Responsibilities and Rights. This was presented by Andy Street, The Mayor of West Midlands.
Maple Tree Court Manager Richard Lawson praised Mr Crossan for his achievements. He said: “Christopher is a truly dedicated worker and team member - the qualification represents a huge achievement both professionally and personally. He has not only faced the significant physical and life changing challenges that he experiences on a daily basis, he has triumphed over them! He has worked incredibly hard and we are thrilled this has been recognised.”
“He is following in his Mum’s footsteps to become part of a committed team at Maple Tree Court who are a credit to Anchor. Without the support and dedication of our staff, Maple Tree Court would not be the great home it is today.”
Christopher is 26 years old and has worked at Anchor-run Maple Tree Court since February 2016.
Resident Margaret spoke highly of Christopher, “He is a lovely young man, professional and always caring – he always makes time for each one of us personally. Lovely, lovely young man.”
