Across our locations, residents and colleagues came together this weekend to take a moment and reflect on and remember the losses experienced through war for Remembrance Day.
The day is especially poignant to the people living with us as some have memories of war or experienced the loss of war. Our care homes and housing locations up and down the country held special events to commemorate the day in a way that was meaningful for them, whether it be observing the Two Minute Silence, taking part in Remembrance themed creative activities, or visiting a local war memorial.
Millfield care home in Oldham laid a wreath at their local war memorial, while residents at Willow Gardens in Hampshire created a Remembrance Day poster together.
At Silk Court in London and Beechfield Lodge in Salford Remembrance Day themed arts and crafts sessions helped residents to express their feelings.
Residents at Gills Top in Skipton created poppy wreaths and residents at Eric Morecambe House in Morecambe were invited to make their own poppy to add to their Remembrance display.
At Anchor, we provide accessible ways for residents to commemorate events that are important to them such as Remembrance Day.
