My mother-in-law has now been a resident at Willow Gardens for a year, and the support on a daily basis for all the many changes for my mother-in-law has been invaluable. Great Communication at all times with all members of Staff from management level down has been invaluable for us all and really appreciated from initial settling in to change of … Doctors/Hospital (great set up by the way)and all the many small daily requirements to help make the transition into care as comfortable as possible. Mother-in-Law enjoys the food, lots of activities available on site, with good outside space. Thank you, Willow Gardens, for the many times you have taken the time in your busy day/eve and have shown genuine care and kindness, it's been really appreciated. Highly recommend

Moving mum to Willows from hospital was so easy. The management team put our minds at rest and all went smoothly. The rooms are cosy and clean and well maintained. The carers are so lovely and really take the time to get to know all their residents. They always have time for a chat and a catch up. Christmas was so magical and fun. We have be… en so impressed we also moved our 102 year old aunt in also.

The home is well run by caring staff. I was always offered a drink when I visited, which was very welcome. The manager was particularly friendly and always approachable and answered any questions I might have had. I couldn't have wished for a better care home for my mum to be in.

My mum has been at Willow Gardens for nearly 4 years and she has received excellent care during that time. I looked at a lot of care homes before choosing Willow Gardens and have had no doubts about our choice. From the moment you walk through the doors there is a welcome, happy and calm environment. There are lots of activities which residents can… enjoy both inside and out of the care home and rooms are comfortable and can be personalised to make residents feel at home. Managers have always been available and easy to communicate with and the care staff have always been kind and thoughtful both to mum and myself. The communication between Willow Gardens and the GP surgery is excellent which gives added peace of mind. I can't speak highly enough of the care and kindness my mum has received from the wonderful care staff.

I arrived at Willow Gardens on the 16th of January. I had broken my wrist. The care I received immediately was amazing. It continued during my whole stay. The management and carers couldn't have been more helpful. I now feel so much better.

Little things can make a big difference, so we always strive to understand what is important to you. We call it person centred care because it’s built around you or your loved one. It’s there to help you settle in really quickly, with regular reviews to keep things up-to-date.

Dedicated staff ensure care, support and understanding is tailored to your exact needs. They will ensure that you continue to enjoy maximum independence and 24-hour peace of mind, knowing that all the help and assistance you might need is always at hand. All carers employed by Anchor are given intensive training and are required to complete NVQ qualifications and a range of in-house courses to assure you of the best possible care.

Arthritis, stroke, Parkinson’s and Osteoporosis are all conditions that we may suffer from as we age; at Willow Gardens we know how important it is to care for our residents with the dignity and respect they deserve.

To achieve this we have forged partnerships with a range of health and social care specialists. Willow Gardens can organise visits from a GP, district nurse, physiotherapist, chiropodist or holistic therapist, as well as arrange visits to the dentist and optician as needed.

We provide high quality care and support for residents living with dementia by treating them as individuals. All of our employees are trained and supported by our dedicated dementia team to ensure residents feel valued and able to live life to the full. Ever ready to offer support to family and friends via access to information and advice, their approach respects the uniqueness of each person rather than focusing on the diagnosis of dementia.

- personal copies of newspapers or magazines
- personal purchases such as stationery, confectionery, toiletries etc.
- clothing, shoes and slippers

In the absence of free provision by the NHS, we can also arrange for the following healthcare services to be provided, these will be charged in addition to the weekly fees:
- chiropody

- other privately arranged healthcare
- care staff accompaniment to regular medical appointments.

No upfront deposit is required at any of Anchor’s care homes to secure a room.

At Anchor we pride ourselves on offering a truly tailored approach to care and therefore need to fully understand your needs to provide you with an accurate fee estimate. Please call us to discuss your specific care needs today. Alternatively we welcome you to visit us to discuss your situation face-to-face.

Want more information on care home fees?

Learning about the different funding options available to you can also help you feel confident in your decisions. Anchor know that securing care home funding can sometimes appear a rather daunting task and so to help we have put together a free guide covering requesting assistance, top up fees and third-party payments.

Welcoming you

To start your enquiry simply click 'Enquire now' at the top of the page and either call us or complete an online enquiry form.

We know only too well how daunting and emotional the decisions are for everyone when considering care, which is why our team are here to help every step of the way.

We’ll provide you with full details of the home, along with any other information you’d like, such as sample menus and activity schedules, as well as explain how you can arrange a viewing.

Whether you’re looking to stay with us permanently, or for a short break, we’d be delighted to take you on a show round of the home in person. Simply book a visit with the home manager once you’ve made your enquiry.

If you or your loved one doesn’t live nearby or are unable to visit in person we can provide a virtual show round. Either way, we’re keen to show you what daily life is like here and for you to meet our friendly team.

We hope you decide, following your visit, that you or your loved one would like to move into the home, in which case we’ll organise a pre-assessment to make sure we can meet all your care needs.

Guide to visiting a care home for the first time

Visiting a care home is one of the most important steps in deciding whether it’s the right place for you or your loved one. In our homes we will ensure your visit will be welcoming, informative and reassuring, so you can feel confident about your choice. To help you get the most from your time visiting our homes, we've written an easy to follow online guide to visiting a care home.

We hope you decide, following your visit, that you or your loved one would like to move into the home, in which case we’ll organise a pre-assessment to make sure we can meet all your care needs.

You may already have had a care needs assessment from the local authority and have a care plan in place which can be a useful starting point for our conversations, so we will ask about these. Our pre-assessment is a chance for us to find out more about you, the challenges you face and the way you like to live your life. It's a conversation about how our team could work with you to support your needs, independence, and wellbeing.

Once you are confident in your choice of new home, our friendly onsite teams will discuss every aspect of moving-in with you in detail to make sure you know exactly what to expect.

This way you can feel confident, safe and welcomed in the knowledge that you or your loved one will be happy and supported in your new home.

Before you move in, we will find out if there are any of your possessions that you wish us to place in your room before you arrive. Please bring your family photographs and most treasured possessions to help make your room your home.

Our care homes are dedicated to helping our residents maintain links in the local area and with their loved ones. We understand how important visits are to help your loved one settle in and we welcome regular visits from family and friends.

We also actively support residents living with us to enjoy visits away from their new home into the local area and to nearby places of interest.

Each of our homes is different and the manager of the care home you’re interested in will provide all the information you need around visiting.
