September's Resident Involvement Updates

We encourage residents to help shape and improve our services through the resident involvement groups. Below are some of the recent actions and improvements driven by these groups. 

Heather Rowell, a Berkshire resident, has been appointed as the new Resident Non-Executive Director, bringing fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the role. You will be able to read more about her views and intentions for the role in the upcoming edition of Life magazine. 

Residents at all locations receive this regular newsletter. Recently, over 170 residents gave feedback on the newsletters and showed that the majority receive and enjoy them, with may finding them useful and interesting. 

The Residents’ Scrutiny Panel is also reviewing Anchor’s communications, including Life magazine and the website, while the Environmental Forum is creating a booklet to raise awareness of retrofitting and sustainable gardening practices.

Alongside communications, residents have been closely involved in shaping services and policies. Over 220 residents took part in discussions about the updated Allocations & Lettings policy, helping to ensure it reflects priorities that matter most to them.

On Tuesday 19 August, internal auditors attended the Resident Council meeting to share their plan for the year. They focused on customer-related areas, including rent setting, service charges and allocations. They considered feedback from residents for areas of focus in their audit, including points raised in the Allocations & Lettings policy review. 

In September the following resident involvement meetings will be held: 

• Residents' Communications Group - 11 September
• Residents' Council - 30 September
