Loving Later Life Awards 2 June – 9 August
The Loving Later Life Awards recognise residents who make a real difference at their location.
Help us celebrate the residents who make a real difference at your location, by nominating them for an award! Residents can nominate themselves and others for awards, and they can even be nominated by friends, family, or Anchor colleagues.
This year’s award categories include:
Inclusive Ambassador: recognising residents actively promoting a supportive, inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone, or has improved their knowledge of diversity and inclusion to help support or educate others
Knowledge Seeker: those residents keen to continue their ongoing personal development by learning new skills and talents and using those to support other residents
Sustainability Champion: this award recognises those who are trying to make a positive impact on the environment – maybe they’ve taken a sustainable approach to gardening or are exploring biodiversity, rewilding or reusing materials
Neighbour Like No Other: they say everyone needs good neighbours. Do you know someone who goes the extra mile to help their neighbours?
Digital Dynamo: technology is constantly evolving and can be daunting to keep up with. This category recognises those taking technological advances in their stride, to improve their own and others’ lives
Fabulous Fundraiser: it’s exactly what it says on the (collection) tin – recognising a resident going above and beyond to raise money for others
Paw’some Pet: we know pets provide companionship, comfort and love, and offer a way of making contact with others. Let us know which one deserves this award!
The Greatest Grandparent(s): do you know someone who is a grandparent or a great-grandparent and goes above and beyond for their family?
Blooming Marvellous Gardener (Best Fruit and Veg): whether they’re a beginner at growing fruit and veg’ or an expert sharing tips and tricks with others, which green-fingered gardener deserves this award?
Maximum of two photos per nomination. You must have consent for any people in the photos submitted as well as the nominees, as winners’ photos and nominations will be featured internally and externally, for example in location newsletters, local newspaper, Life (our resident magazine), on our website or on social media (e.g. Facebook etc.).
Winners will be contacted after the closing date.
A virtual awards ceremony will also take place to congratulate the winners on their achievements.
One of the brilliant winners from last year was David Harris, from Willow Court. David won the Digital Dynamo award for supporting a number of residents with activities like online shopping, connecting people with friends and family using WhatsApp and even downloading spellcheckers. The judges said that David had been doing his “utmost to help residents use digital tools”.
