A range of services to tackle all of winter's challenges
Around the country, our care homes can offer day care to assist local older people with personal care, warm food and friendly company. Day care can be arranged through referrals from local professionals such as community nurses, and can help vulnerable older people in the communities near our homes feel supported during the winter months.
We know older people can be particularly susceptible to isolation and loneliness, especially in the colder weather, when they are more likely to spend longer periods of time at home. Increasing numbers of Anchor care homes can offer lonely older people in the local area Fish and Chips on a Friday or a Sunday lunch to ensure they can enjoy a freshly cooked meal at least once a week in a safe and comfortable environment.
