Savile Park care home throws Alice in Wonderland-themed party
Savile Park care home recently threw an Alice in Wonderland-themed activity day for the entertainment of residents.
On Thursday 18 February, the team at Savile Park care home on Mellor Street all dressed up as characters from the iconic children’s series to the delight of all the residents.
The team also organised a number of fun party games and activities for the residents like Pin the Tail on the Cheshire Cat, Alice in Wonderland Croquet & Card Games. The whole day was topped off with a proper Mad Hatter’s Tea Party and themed dinner.
Joan Brownlee, 91, who has lived at Savile Park since January 2019, was keen to say how much she enjoyed the day, saying:
It was so much fun! Seeing everyone dressed up was great they do make such an effort. I really enjoyed the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party and trying the Mad Hatters Stew as well! It’s lovely to have these little fun things to do. It makes us all feel well looked after.
Emma Littlewood, Manager of Savile Park, said:
We had a lot of fun dressing up and organising the event and I’m glad our residents enjoyed it! Everyone enjoys Alice in Wonderland, so it was an easy choice. We’re looking to organise more fun events like these to keep our residents cheerful during difficult times and are part of our ongoing programme of exciting activities which aim to stimulate the residents physically and mentally.
