Gills Top care home hosts stroke support group

A Grassington care home will hosting a regular group to support people in the area who have been affected by a Stroke. 

Anchor’s Gills Top care home will be hosting a Rebuild After Stroke group every two weeks, from Friday 6th March between 2pm and 3.30pm. 

Gills Top Manager Kirsty Francis said: “We wanted to set up a friendly and informal group to support people who have had a stroke or have had a loved one experience a stroke. Having had personal experience of the effects a stroke can have, there seemed to be little support in the Craven area.

I contacted local surgeries and, with support from Dyneley House Surgery in Skipton, we have worked with ‘Champions Lead the Way’ to provide a much-needed support group. We’re looking forward to welcoming anyone over the age of 18 to the group, as strokes don’t just affect older people.”
