Willow Gardens care home hosts charity coffee morning
Residents and visitors to Willow Gardens enjoyed a morning of tea and cake to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
Angela McCormack, Home Manager at Willow Garden said; "After a family friend, Wendy, needed a quadruple bypass last year we wanted to give something back to this rewarding charity. We served coffee, cupcakes, a fantastic coffee and walnut cake made by our very own commis chef Michelle and a beautiful heart-shaped cake which was used as a raffle prize and won by one of our respite residents."
The team managed to raise an amazing £110 from the sale of the cakes, raffle and balloon competition. Angela and Wendy also followed this event with a 4-mile walk around Virginia Water Lakes - something Wendy couldn't have done before the operation.
