Supporting our communities
Some of our contractors deliver additional projects as part of their contracts with Anchor. These social value projects are designed to benefit the wider site or community and can take many forms, from improving shared spaces to creating opportunities for residents to come together.
Hanging baskets workshop
Recently, residents at Hargreave Close and Calder Drive enjoyed a hanging basket workshop organised by Ian Williams. The workshops followed a request from residents who wanted an activity to enhance their communal spaces whilst bringing neighbours together. Residents had the opportunity to learn new gardening skills, improve the appearance of their neighbourhood and encourage a greater sense of pride and ownership.
New benches create a welcoming space
At Bishops Court and Westgate Mews, West Country Maintenance (WMS) donated new benches as part of their Social Value Programme. Residents were delighted to receive them, and an Anchor Chatty Bench plaque has also been added to encourage residents to sit, relax and enjoy a chat with others.
Got an idea?
Residents are welcome to put forward ideas for projects that would benefit their wider site or community. Suggestions should focus on bringing residents together, enhancing shared spaces or promoting overall wellbeing, rather than benefitting an individual.
If you have an idea, please speak to your location manager, who can support your proposal through the process.
If a proposal’s approved, your resident liaison officer would work with the contractor to help bring the project to life. You would receive a letter outlining what had been approved, what the project involved and the expected timescales.
It is important to note that as every proposal is assessed individually, there is not a set timescale for projects, so the time taken to progress each idea will vary. Contractors will provide residents with at least 14 days’ notice before any work takes place.
