Residents helping shape Anchor’s future
Residents continue to play an important role in shaping Anchor’s plans, services and decisions.
Anchor is developing a new Corporate Strategy. This is a long-term plan that will help decide what Anchor focuses on and invests in over the next few years.
Residents have been involved from the outset, helping to test our approach and identify what matters most to them. All residents have the chance to share their views through a survey, with feedback helping to shape our priorities for the years ahead. You can find out more by visiting here or speaking to your location manager. (The survey’s closing date is 23 October).
Residents are also helping to co-develop our new Resident Communications Strategy. Getting communication right is important. Residents want information that is clear, easy to understand and available at the right time.
To help us improve, residents recently took part in a discussion about what good communication looks like, what is working well and what could be improved. They told us what matters most to them, including timely updates, opportunities to give feedback and communication that is easy to access and understand.
From October, social housing providers are required to make more information available under the new Social Tenant Access to Information Requirements (STAIRS). Members of the Resident Voice Panel recently reviewed the new webpages that will provide this information, helping to make them clearer and easier to navigate before they go live.
Residents have also been involved in recruitment, taking part in interviews for Non-Executive Director positions and the new Head of Homeownership Services, ensuring the resident perspective is reflected throughout the process. Involvement in interviews ensures the resident voice is part of the recruitment process and candidates can hear from those who live with us.
In addition, residents are helping to shape our new Colleague Code of Conduct, sharing their views on the behaviours and standards they expect from Anchor colleagues and contractors.
Over the coming months, Resident Voice Panel members will also support procurement exercises covering water hygiene and legionella control, cleaning, pest control and cladding safety works.
