Resident voice in action
Our Resident Voice Panel is one of the ways residents can share feedback with us. It’s open to all residents and there’s no fixed commitment.
Members can take part as much or little as they want. You can find out more by emailing [email protected] or speaking to your location manager. Below some of the feedback the panel has shared recently.
Lodgers and sub-letting policy – 63 responses
We asked residents to review our draft Lodgers and sub-letting policy. 79% said the policy was clear and easy to understand. There was support for flexibility in situations such as caring responsibilities, probate and difficulties selling a property. Many residents were in favour of clearer monitoring and stronger action where the policy is breached. Homeowners wanted reassurance that individual lease terms would continue to take priority. These comments will help us refine the policy before it is finalised.
Anchor website feedback – 43 responses
We asked residents to explore the Anchor website and tell us about their experience finding information online. Most respondents (73%) told us they use the website regularly or occasionally, using it to find information about services and policies, read news and updates, and get involved and share feedback.
When asked how easy it was to find the information they needed, 63% said it was easy, while 21% found it difficult. This shows there is still more work to do.
Thank you also to the Residents’ Scrutiny Panel, who have been carrying out a detailed review of the website. Their work has helped identify areas where the website can be simplified and improved. You can read more about the Scrutiny Panel and their work here.
Resident consultation and engagement survey – 163 responses
We asked residents how they would like to be consulted and involved in decisions that affect them and their location.
One idea we explored was replacing several separate location meetings with a single Annual General Meeting covering services, budgets and future plans. 59% of respondents found this idea appealing, while 19% were neutral.
We also asked whether having one joined-up meeting would make it easier to understand information and contribute to discussions. 54% agreed or strongly agreed, while 23% were neutral.
Residents also highlighted the importance of keeping involvement simple while ensuring residents continue to have a strong voice:
- 94% want a simpler process that still gives residents a strong voice
- 97% want clear information before meetings
We are currently reviewing all the feedback received and using it to help shape future changes. We will share further updates in future editions of the newsletter. You can find out more about our resident involvement groups and panels here.
