November's Resident Involvement Updates
We encourage residents to help shape and improve our services through the resident involvement groups. Below are some of the recent improvements and focuses driven by these groups.
Anchor's Resident Voice Strategy
Last year we asked residents their views on our Resident Voice Strategy. This strategy sets out how we listen to residents, learn from what they tell us and act based on their feedback.
We had over a hundred responses, which have been incorporated into the new Resident Voice Strategy. We’ve shared this strategy to the Resident Voice panel. This ensures we are addressing their thoughts and concerns.
So far, we’ve had over 70 responses. 82% of respondents feel it’s clear what we’re trying to achieve with the strategy and believe the 2025 draft plan will help fix the issues residents raised in 2024.
Next the Resident’s Council will have a session to discuss these survey results and help us make changes.
Share your thoughts on the government state pension
Anchor is preparing a response to a government consultation about whether the current State Pension age is still fair and sustainable. This matters because changes to the pension age could affect residents’ access to benefits like Universal Credit and Housing Benefit. If the pension age goes up, people may face more financial pressure, especially those without private pensions.
Anchor currently has around 1,300 residents aged 66–67 who could be affected.
Raising the pension age could reduce financial stability and make it harder for some residents to stay in their homes. It could also hit lower-income groups harder if life expectancy continues to grow.
Anchor is asking involved residents for their views to help shape our response.
