Make sure your contents is covered
While Anchor provides buildings insurance for all leasehold and freehold properties, this does not cover your personal belongings. It’s your responsibility to arrange contents insurance, and we recommend having a policy in place.
Contents insurance protects the things that matter to you, including:
- Your furniture, carpets and furnishings
- Personal belongings such as clothing, electrical items and valuables
- Money and important documents
- Third party liability – protection if damage from your home affects someone else’s property.
Without contents insurance, you may have to pay for repairs or replacements yourself. For example, if a badly fitted washing machine leaks and causes water damage to a neighbour’s home, you could be responsible for the cost of their repairs and damaged belongings.
A contents insurance policy gives peace of mind and can be more affordable than you might expect. It helps make sure you’re protected if the unexpected happens.
If you don’t already have insurance, now is a good time to consider it. It’s a simple step that helps you feel safe, secure and confident in your home.
