Introducing our Men’s Social Circle – a new space to connect
We’re pleased to be launching a new Men’s Social Circle. The first meeting took place on 23 July at 6pm via Microsoft Teams and will meet every four weeks. This welcoming, informal session has been created especially for male residents who would like to connect with others, enjoy a friendly chat and build new friendships in a relaxed environment.%20x%20350.jpg)
The session will run for around an hour and will be gently facilitated by a male colleague to help guide the conversation and ensure everyone feels comfortable joining in. There’s no pressure, just an opportunity to listen, share stories, talk about interests, or simply enjoy being part of a supportive group. Whether you’re keen to chat right away or prefer to ease yourself in, you’ll be warmly welcomed.
Creating spaces like this is particularly important when it comes to men’s mental health. Many men can find it harder to open up about how they’re feeling or may feel isolated at times. Taking part in social groups, even in a casual setting, can make a real difference, helping to reduce loneliness, improve wellbeing, and build a sense of belonging. Sometimes, simply having a conversation with someone who understands can be incredibly powerful.
Alongside the session, there is additional support available through Be Skilled (our online learning platform for residents), where you can access helpful resources and information specifically focused on men’s mental health. These resources are there to support you at your own pace and provide guidance whenever you may need it.
We would love for you to join us and help us shape a group that feels meaningful and enjoyable for everyone involved. Whether you’re looking to meet new people, share experiences, or just have a good chat, this is a great place to start.
