Changes to our buildings insurance provider
As you will be aware, our current insurance contract is due to end in June 2026 and we are in the process of selecting a new insurance provider. Cover with the selected provider will begin on 1 July.
In May, you will have received a Notice of Proposal document with details of our proposed providers.
Will this affect me?
Your insurance cover will continue as normal, so there’s no action needed from you right now.
There is likely to be a reduction in your annual insurance premium starting from 1 July 2026 and you can read more about this in the Notice of Proposal paperwork you’ve been sent. Residents have told us that high insurance costs are something they are worried about.
There will also be a change to how insurance claims are reported. From 1 July, claims will be reported directly to the insurer and settled directly with the resident.
Once we have the outcome of the Section 20 consultation and the provider is confirmed, we’ll share full details of the new process in the next newsletter.
