A range of services to tackle the challenges faced by older people

Around the country, our care homes can offer day care to assist local older people with personal care, warm food and friendly company. Day care can be arranged through referrals from local professionals such as community nurses, and can help vulnerable older people in the communities near our homes feel supported.    

We know older people can be particularly susceptible to isolation and loneliness, especially in the colder weather, when they are more likely to spend longer periods of time at home. Increasing numbers of Anchor care homes can offer lonely older people in the local area Fish and Chips on a Friday or a Sunday lunch to ensure they can enjoy a freshly cooked meal at least once a week in a safe and comfortable environment.

We also offer free information and guides on winter planning that you can share with your clients and patients living in their own homes to help them prepare for colder weather.

Our guides feature helpful tips on the practical steps people can take to make the winter months easier, such as how best to stay fit and healthy, keeping warm and staying safe when out and about in winter weather.
