Help with rehabilitation and recovery following hospital treatment or an injury
Many of our care homes offer convalescence care and short-term stays for older people to help with rehabilitation and recovery.
Following a stay in hospital or an injury it may not always be safe to go straight home, a short stay in one of our speciality adapted care homes can help with rehabilitation and recuperation.
These short recovery stays can be arranged for a variety of planned or unplanned circumstances, such as after a operation or serious illness, and can vary from just a few days to as long as is needed.
At Anchor, we are dedicated to providing personally tailored support that meets the individual needs of all care home residents, whatever level of care they require and however long they are staying with us.
Our convalescence care is provided by well-trained, caring staff fully committed to making even the shortest of stays a positive experience.
We encourage people staying with us to recuperate or recover to fully take advantage of the social activities going on within the home and to see their time with us as a chance to meet new people and try some new things.
Choosing a care home is a big decision and short stays can be a good way for people to familiarise themselves with care home environment and try out a potential permanent home. Read our short guide to respite care for more detailed information about what to expect from a respite care break.
