Greenhive care home organises fun autumn activities open day
A care home in Peckham organised a variety of autumn activities as part of an open day on Thursday 14 November, so members of the public could find out more about its thriving community.
Residents were invited to visit Anchor’s Greenhive in Brayards Road for the fun event.
In the morning visitors sampled a selection of warm spiced teas or hot chocolate while listening to live entertainment and decorating cinnamon cupcakes with pupils from St Mary Magdalene Church of England School.
The visitors joined the residents for lunch and afterwards staff ran an autumn scented candle making session and gave gift bags to every guest.
Greenhive Manager Joel Bello said: “We know the older people we work with enjoy the activities here. We held the autumn open day so that members of the local community could have a look around the home and hear for themselves how happy a place this is to live and about the great community spirit we have here.”
Iris Head, who has lived at Greenhive for three years, said: “Greenhive is a very pleasant place to live. I love my room as it looks onto the garden and I’m still able to visit the shops. I’m not surprised Greenhive is rated good by the regulator because the carers are lovely and very caring. It is the best place to live.”
