Anchor Hanover brings home the spoils at the 2019 EAC Awards

Anchor Hanover, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for older people, has won an incredible 61 regional accolades as part of the annual Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC) Awards.

The impressive tally includes 26 Gold, 26 Silver and nine Bronze awards, given for retirement housing and also housing-with-care. 

Five Anchor Hanover locations have also been shortlisted for a national award and will go head to head with 27 other providers when the winners are announced in May.

The EAC Awards celebrate the best specialist housing for older people and aim to help shape the future of housing in later life. This year saw nearly 19,000 votes cast, with some 1,220 properties nominated across the country.

John Galvin, EAC’s Chief Executive, explained the importance of the awards: “Specialist housing for older people plays an enormously significant role in helping them stay independent for longer. The security, support and great communities have a positive impact on individuals and reduce the need for NHS services.”
