My Dad was a resident at Timken Grange for 2 days short of 3 years, before passing peacefully at the home. The home is purpose built, well appointed and maintained. I have huge admiration and respect for the staff at Timken who all played their part in looking after my Dad during his stay. From the friendly welcome of the reception staff, through … to the Kitchen and Housekeeping teams, maintenance, the carers - day and night teams, and the home manager, Louise, who always had time to discussion any concerns we had, with action when necessary, reassurance and advice. In the early years my Dad went on visits to museums, Remembrance Parade and was encouraged to participate in the Veterans sessions, which he so enjoyed. A heartfelt thank you for looking after my Dad with kindness and respect.

My father has been a resident at Timken Grange for the last two and a half years. During that time, I've had the pleasure of getting to know the management and staff, and I can honestly say they are an amazing team. The home itself is beautifully presented, exceptionally clean, and furnished to a very high standard. It always feels welcoming and… well cared for. I spend a lot of time with my father, and whenever we need to discuss anything about his care or simply ask a question, there is always someone available to talk to. As a family, we feel genuinely supported and have complete trust in Timken Grange, knowing that our dad is being cared for with kindness, dignity, and respect. Over the years we've enjoyed so many wonderful events alongside the staff and residents. From Easter egg hunts, summer fêtes, Christmas dinners, birthday celebrations, Halloween parties and Remembrance Day commemorations, to many other occasions. Every event is thoughtfully planned and brings so much joy.

My relative was very independent and railed against a home, after a few weeks in and out of the home, she had decided to stay. During this time the management and staff went out of their way to make her feel, welcome, happy, safe and loved. Nothing was too much trouble, they did everything they could to help her understand that she needed the secur… ity of the home and staff.

I was very pleased with the care kindness and help shown in encouraging my aunt through several respite stays to becoming a permanent resident. All the staff and especially the manager Loiuse were so supportive and patient throughout a trying time.

Just like to say what a fantastic group of carers at Timken Grange care home, All the staff, so friendly thoughtful and kind giving my mother respect, understanding for her individual needs helping her day to day at every minute never questioning what we asked for, putting her first. She was able to make her room to her taste taking items from hom… e to make her feel comfortable. A lovely ground floor room with patio door so she could go out if she wanted to. She was only there for a short time, the staff treated her like a family member giving her unconditional loving care. There are lots of daily activities to attend to but no pressure to do so. Which we could follow on social media also weekly coffee morning which we could join mum there. They were all a fantastic support to me and my family during a difficult time. Would like to say a big Thank you to everyone at the home. For your ever giving support help and care . Thank you xx

I have friends that are resident in Timken Grange Care home, Duston. Some of my friends have been resident over 5 years, the last one John a resident the past three weeks, he loves being looked after by the carers. Visiting the care home gives my life structure and takes away some of the loneliness. When entering the care home you are greeted wi… th a smile from Jane or Kim, both ladies have a pleasing manner. The care home is spotlessly clean and unlike other homes that I have visited does not have any unpleasant odours. The activities in the care home are many and varied. One most popular are the hymn singing, carpet bowls, and poetry club where residents compose their own poems and read them out.I have found the meals at the Grange very good, made with fresh produce and served hot. Being a visitor over 65 yrs and live alone I get invited to Sunday lunch which I appreciate and look forward to. In short I would become a resident of the Grange in Louise the Manageress's excellent care.

Welcoming you

To start your enquiry simply click 'Enquire now' at the top of the page and either call us or complete an online enquiry form.

We know only too well how daunting and emotional the decisions are for everyone when considering care, which is why our team are here to help every step of the way.

We’ll provide you with full details of the home, along with any other information you’d like, such as sample menus and activity schedules, as well as explain how you can arrange a viewing.

Whether you’re looking to stay with us permanently, or for a short break, we’d be delighted to take you on a show round of the home in person. Simply book a visit with the home manager once you’ve made your enquiry.

If you or your loved one doesn’t live nearby or are unable to visit in person we can provide a virtual show round. Either way, we’re keen to show you what daily life is like here and for you to meet our friendly team.

We hope you decide, following your visit, that you or your loved one would like to move into the home, in which case we’ll organise a pre-assessment to make sure we can meet all your care needs.

Guide to visiting a care home for the first time

Visiting a care home is one of the most important steps in deciding whether it’s the right place for you or your loved one. In our homes we will ensure your visit will be welcoming, informative and reassuring, so you can feel confident about your choice. To help you get the most from your time visiting our homes, we've written an easy to follow online guide to visiting a care home.

We hope you decide, following your visit, that you or your loved one would like to move into the home, in which case we’ll organise a pre-assessment to make sure we can meet all your care needs.

You may already have had a care needs assessment from the local authority and have a care plan in place which can be a useful starting point for our conversations, so we will ask about these. Our pre-assessment is a chance for us to find out more about you, the challenges you face and the way you like to live your life. It's a conversation about how our team could work with you to support your needs, independence, and wellbeing.

Once you are confident in your choice of new home, our friendly onsite teams will discuss every aspect of moving-in with you in detail to make sure you know exactly what to expect.

This way you can feel confident, safe and welcomed in the knowledge that you or your loved one will be happy and supported in your new home.

Before you move in, we will find out if there are any of your possessions that you wish us to place in your room before you arrive. Please bring your family photographs and most treasured possessions to help make your room your home.

Our care homes are dedicated to helping our residents maintain links in the local area and with their loved ones. We understand how important visits are to help your loved one settle in and we welcome regular visits from family and friends.

We also actively support residents living with us to enjoy visits away from their new home into the local area and to nearby places of interest.

Each of our homes is different and the manager of the care home you’re interested in will provide all the information you need around visiting.
