Building homes and futures: Why now is the time to join Anchor’s Land & Regeneration team
At Anchor, we’re committed to creating places where older people can truly thrive and that starts long before a single brick is laid. It begins with the people who imagine, plan, and secure the future homes our residents will rely on for decades to come.
One of those people is Patrick Duffy, Director of Land & Regeneration, who joined Anchor just over three years ago. Today, he shares what makes this team so special and why now is the perfect time to join us as our new Head of Land & Planning.
A team that shapes Anchor’s future
The Land & Regeneration team is made up of specialists who each play a crucial role in developing the high-quality, affordable homes older people deserve.
Regeneration
Led by our national Head of Regeneration, Nick Hodgskin, this team focuses on revitalising existing Anchor estates that no longer meet the standards our residents should expect. Their work turns outdated schemes into modern, sustainable homes that are comfortable and affordable for older people.
Partnerships
Our Partnerships build strong, lasting relationships with local authorities, partners, and external stakeholders — ensuring our decisions are informed, strategic, and impactful. The team does powerful and detailed research and uses data and insight to inform the other teams’ work about where and how we invest.
Land & Planning
The Land & Planning team identifies the right opportunities for Anchor; sourcing, negotiating, and taking land deals through planning to create thoughtfully designed affordable housing schemes. It’s a team that balances commercial acumen with deep purpose.
Looking ahead: Our most ambitious programme yet
“What excites me most about the next few years,” Patrick says, “is that we’re about to leap into Anchor’s most ambitious development programme in decades.”
Working in partnership with Homes England and the Mayor of London, we’re committed to delivering at least 500 new affordable homes every year under new funding programmes. This is a huge moment for Anchor and a rare opportunity for anyone who wants to drive meaningful, large-scale change.
We have the financial strength, the backing, and the drive to make a real difference. Our goal is simple: To be a leading voice for older people, delivering sustainable, beautifully designed homes where they can live well for longer.
