Anchor’s Health and Safety Lead

Anchor takes its responsibilities in ensuring the health and safety of its tenants and employees seriously.

Under the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023 we have an obligation to appoint and publicise the name and contact details of our health and safety lead.

Anchor’s Health and Safety Lead is Julie Wittich, Executive Director - Operations.

In fulfilling the role of Anchor’s health and safety lead, Julie has the following responsibilities:

to monitor compliance with Anchor’s health and safety requirements;
to assess the risks of Anchor failing to comply with these requirements;
to notify Anchor’s Board of any material failures, or any risks of material failures, in complying with these health and safety requirements; and
to provide advice to Anchor’s Board as to how to address such risks and any failures as a way of ensuring that we comply with health and safety requirements.

Julie is not, however, responsible for Anchor’s compliance with health and safety requirements or liable for a failure by Anchor to comply with these requirements.

Anchor is obligated to ensure that Julie in her role as health and safety lead:

has been given sufficient authority (including the authority to obtain information) within the organisation; and
can devote sufficient time to the functions of the health and safety lead, to perform the role effectively, and has the resources to carry out those functions.
