St Clements Court launches Wellbeing Wednesdays
Vicky Smallwood, Housekeeper and Voluntary Wellbeing Activities Coordinator at St Clements Court in Wigan has launched a new initiative for residents to enjoy.
Each Wednesday the new wellbeing sessions feature a range of different activities, from dance to relaxation and memory lane exercises. Speaking of the sessions Vicky said:
I absolutely love doing the sessions and each week more and more tenants pop into the 1 hour class.
Two residents who have been attending the Wellbeing Wednesday classes shared their experiences.

The Wellbeing Wednesday group is very interesting and gets me out of my flat. Since doing the sessions, I have learnt a lot about my own health and wellbeing, I walk more, eat better and feel part of a good social group. It’s a change for the better for me and I like the chat with neighbours and some new members lately have also come down to the group. I learn something new each week, quizzes, brain teasers and exercises. Vicky explains things really well and I find it interesting to learn more.
Through the sessions, Vicky is able to pass on new skills and techniques. Residents can drop in to learn more about mindfulness, self-care and breathing exercises and can even make new friends along the way.
